In this role, you’ll work with a highly enthusiastic team, contributing in a world-class manufacturing industry in Puerto Rico & USA.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides strategic planning and direction as well as tactical management guidance and tools to ensure that “best practices” are employed to protect physical assets, proprietary information, and personnel.
  • This includes development and implementation of risk-based asset protection plans, management of internal and external resources, budgets, integrated security systems, and comprehensive security programs.
  • In addition, this position requires strong communication and decision-making skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as to work effectively with external government and public safety related agencies and organizations.
  • Provides consultation and interpretation of established security policies, programs and practices.
  • Manages and/or leads work focus teams, complex projects, investigations or programs.
  • May function as a liaison to external public safety and governmental agencies.
  • Responsible for conducting or coordinating internal security investigations at the direction of the Legal and Human Resources departments (e.g., personnel issues, and criminal activity).
  • Manages security response to emergency and crisis situations.
  • Manages or participates in the development of emergency response and disaster plans.
  • Works with local public safety and government agencies.
  • Writes and prepares reports, programs and management summaries.
  • Manages suppliers and external consultants supporting the mission and goals of the security function and Human Asset Protection program areas.
  • Represent the security function to other departments and senior management.
  • Responsible for security system design associated with existing Amgen building(s) and all new construction activity.
  • Responsible for the management of the company photo ID, proprietary lock and key and access control programs. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, business administration, law enforcement or security and
  • 6 years of Corporate Security and/or Public Sector experience 
  • Senior-level experience in the global security environment that includes strategic responsibilities in the Life Sciences industry.
  • Have general working knowledge about employment law and legal aspects of security
  • Professional level proficiency in English and Spanish languages
  • Ability to translate strategic directions and guidance into tactical plans, processes and tools to achieve strategic outcomes.
  • Have strong working knowledge of security risk management practices as well as regulatory and industry compliance
  • Sound judgment regarding the protection of sensitive information
  • Technical understanding of physical security systems and associated technologies
  • Demonstrated supplier management experience
  • Have investigative skills and ability to elicit and document relevant details
  • Strong working knowledge of supply chain security standards, industry practices and programs (TAPA, C-TPAT, and AEO.)
  • Demonstrated emergency and crisis management experience
  • Have a fundamental understanding of budgeting and financial tracking
  • Possess basic computer skills (i.e. report writing, spread sheets, internet research, etc.)
  • 8:00am - 5:00pm, OT per business needs
  • Candidate will be driving inside premises, Seguro Choferil is required
